The classic "Three Peaks Loop" with its starting point at the Rifugio Auronzo can easily be extended with the loop over the Büllelejoch: even more views, especially of the mighty Dolomite peaks around the Fischlein Valley, plus distant views south to the lonely ridges of the Marmarole. The effort and differences in altitude are kept within limits, and there is a cosy hut at the turnaround point. From the hotel, you can either take the car or the bus to the Rifugio Auronzo. From the Rifugio Auronzo ( 2,320 m) an old war road leads under the southern walls of the Three Peaks - past the Capella degli Alpini - over to the Rifugio Lavaredo. Those who want to enjoy a first fantastic view of the north walls of the "Three" leave the hut on the right and climb up with the bulk of the excursionists to the Paternsattel (2,454 m) . At the tiny Lavaredo lakes, you rejoin the lower trail. The wide Mulattiera descends slightly below the head of the pass (2,719 m) and then crosses the scree and meadow plateau of the Pian di Cengia. There is a clear view of the Marmolade massif; the Zwölferkofel (3,094 m) stands massively wide above the rocky promontory of Monte Cengia to the east. Passing the shallow Laghi di Cengia (2,324 m), the trail then climbs to the Büllelejochhütte (2,528 m). The trail continues on a blasted path around a rocky corner to the ridge and briefly down to the Büllelejoch (2,522 m). From the saddle downhill on the north side on a clear scree track and in a longer traverse above the Böden lakes - finally rising again - to the Drei-Zinnen-Hütte (2,405 m) with its famous Drei-Zinnen view. From the stately house on the Toblinger Riedl, the trail continues via a few loops down to the Rienzboden, then in front of the north walls of the Three Peaks across the stony Lange Alm. You hike past the pools at Col Forcellina (2,232 m) and gain a grassy ridge in a short ascent, from which there is a last magnificent view (evening!) of the stone monument. Follow the well-trodden scree trail over to the Forcela de l' Col de Mezo (2,315 m) and with a view of Cadini, Sorapis and Cristallo back to the Rifugio Auronzo at the end point of the "Three Peaks Road". From there back to the hotel by bus or car.
