Out and about with the Bike Academy Sextner Dolomiten

Nobody knows the best trails like those who ride them every day

Just after eight. Outside the Alpenblick, the bikes are already waiting. Time for a last few rays of morning sun on the terrace and one final sip of coffee. Then it's time to go. Not just any route, but a day full of special views, small challenges, and stories known only to those who call this place home.

Home on two wheels

Behind every tour stands a team that doesn't just know the Dolomites, but lives them. Since 2010, the Bike Academy Sextner Dolomiten has guided guests along the region's most beautiful trails. What began as a shared idea is today a close-knit team of six guides who share their passion for the mountains with others, day after day.

This is exactly the attitude that connects us. Because at the Alpenblick, we're convinced of the same thing: the best holiday experiences happen where people pass on their passion. Where a tour becomes more than just a route. Where a summit leaves behind more than just a photo.

Six personalities. One shared passion.

Every guide brings their own personality to the trail. That makes each tour a little different — and that's exactly what defines the Bike Academy. Sometimes sporty and full of energy, sometimes calm and leisurely. But always with the right feel for the people riding along.

Karo combines riding technique with the pure joy of biking. Whether on guided tours, technique training, or the popular Ladycamps, her open, easy-going way makes people feel safe while passing on her enthusiasm for mountain biking.

Patrick knows top-level competitive sport firsthand. Today he's traded racing skis for a mountain bike and guides his guests through the Sesto Dolomites with real passion. Athletic, motivating, and always mindful that, in the end, it's not just the vertical metres that count.

Fred feels just as at home on technical trails as on scenic e-MTB tours. Anyone keen to try something new or fine-tune their riding technique is in the best hands with him.

Markus knows the Dolomites from countless kilometres in the saddle. Often it's not the best-known trails but the small side paths and quiet spots that make a tour special.

Arno loves the region's variety. Sometimes the route flows along smooth trails, sometimes it climbs toward scenic peaks — always adapted to the group, with a real feel for the right pace.

And then there's Reini. Guide, host, and one of the Bike Academy's co-founders. Hardly anyone knows the Sesto Dolomites as well as he does. Ask him about his favourite tour and you'll likely get more than just an answer — probably a story or two as well.

No two days alike

Anyone who thinks one bike tour feels like the next will change their mind the moment they glance at the weekly programme. Because every day brings new routes, new views, and new experiences. Sometimes it's a relaxed ride from hut to hut, sometimes a climb toward scenic peaks, sometimes flowing trails, and sometimes historic military roads. And sometimes, just around the next bend, waits exactly the view you won't forget any time soon.

Whether it's your first time on an e-MTB or you've already clocked up countless vertical metres, the weekly programme has the right tour for everyone. From relaxed leisure rides to riding technique training to demanding trail adventures, there's something for every level.

Curious to find out more? Then take a look at the Bike Academy Sextner Dolomiten's current weekly programme. You might just discover your next favourite tour there.

Our favourite tour? Not an easy question.

Honestly, this question is almost impossible to answer. Every tour has its own charm, its own views, and its own special moments. But if we had to pick one, it would probably be the tour to Arzalpenkopf.

It brings together much of what makes biking in the Sesto Dolomites so special. The route leads through dense forests and up into the impressive mountain landscape, passing former military roads and historic bunkers. Along the History Trail, nature and history merge into an experience that goes far beyond a classic bike tour — and that's exactly what makes it special to us.

Luckily, though, you don't have to commit to just one tour. Whether it's a relaxed leisure ride, a scenic loop past mountain huts, or a demanding trail adventure — the Bike Academy offers guided tours every day at different difficulty levels. So everyone finds their own personal favourite.

The little extras along the way

A great bike tour is made up of more than beautiful trails and impressive views. Often it's the small moments in between that stay in your memory the longest — a relaxed break, a stop at a mountain hut, or a snack with a view of the Dolomites.

Well fuelled for the ride

Alpenblick provisions bag: before you set off, we'll give you a bag of quality provisions for the road. Perfect for a short break wherever the view is at its best.

Favourite hut included: the guides know not only the most beautiful trails but also the most characterful huts in the region. A stop for a bite almost always makes the cut — and of course they also know exactly where the Kaiserschmarrn tastes best.

Your bike gets a holiday too

While after the tour you might head straight for the sun terrace, the wellness area, or dinner, your bike is in great hands too. After all, it needs to be just as ready for the next adventure the next morning as you are.
