Vital & Health through the Use of Bitter Substances
"To Promote Better Health – From Your Head to Your Foot"

No one can say exactly where and when people first began systematically using the bitter substances contained in certain plants for therapeutic purposes. It's quite possible that even prehistoric hunters and gatherers sought out bitter-tasting plants to make their food more palatable. Numerous ancient sources, including the three-thousand-year-old "Rigveda" (one of the four main Vedas of the Hindu Ayurveda) and various studies by ancient physicians and botanists, all the way up to the legendary books of herbs of the 15th till the 17th Century confirm that civilizations have been using select herbs containing bitter substances for more than 3,500 years.

Unfortunately, in the last century, bitter herbs have waned in importance as universal curative agents. While the curative effects of bitter herbs was common knowledge for hundreds of years, methods were developed to reduce or even breed out the substances responsible for their bitter taste. In doing so, no one paused to consider how important bitter substances are for our health.
Ingrid Priebe, Director of the WellVital Residence in the Alpenhotel Zechmeisterlehen Schönau on the shores of Lake Königssee, has been active many years as an Ayurveda therapist, and has a very exact understanding of the effect of bitter substances on energetic disturbances. She took two and a half years to develop the local product Gentian "NaturAlpin" and to apply for a European patent for it.

Gentian "NaturAlpin" is a balanced combination of Gentian root extract and saline. It is employed as a pack (soft pack couch,) for whole-body or partial baths, as a hot roll or mask in the area of cosmetics, for massages and rubs, and for forehead flushes in the Ayurveda department. Most recently, it is also available as a nutritional supplement (in the form of a cocktail, capsules, and infusion beverages.) Gentian "NaturAlpin" is the non-alcoholic "primeval force" from the Alps, to keep you healthy from head to toe.

Bitter substances present in Gentian promote the metabolism of fats by the body. They dampen the appetite for sweets, provide for energy compensation, harmonize the body's rhythms, support muscle functions, and promote a sense of physical well-being from head to toe.

Saline solution helps regulate the body's water balance. It promotes the circulation, soothes irritated mucus membranes, and – via the skin – initiates numerous different processes which help maintain health and well-being.
Gentian "NaturAlpin" is a new trademark which has, in the meantime, made in-roads in many Austrian wellness hotels. Recently, the renowned fx.-Mayr Centers began using it. It is believed that it will soon establish itself as an Alpine trademark.
